WW2 German MP 44 Assault Rifle relic.
This WW2 German MP 44 Assault Rifle relic was recovered from Courland in Lativa the last German strong hold of the Second World War. It is a deactivated through condition and is an excellent example of the first ever mass produced assault rifle used in combat. The design of the rifle was also named the StG44 (abbreviation of Sturmgewehr 44, assault rifle 44). It saw active service from 1943-1945 having been developed by Hugo Schmeisser.
It had a 30-round detachable magazine and could switch between single and auto fire and proved highly reliable in winter conditions. The StG design largely influenced the Soviet AK47 introduced two years after the end of the war.
Aviation and Binoculars have cleaned and lightly polished this ground recovered assault rifle and added a post war stock to show case it.
This would make an excellent addition to anyone’s collection or as a display item.
Here at Aviation and Binoculars we pride ourselves on having one of the widest selection of historically interesting artefacts available to purchase. Check out the full range of military collectables including an authentic Hurricane control column and Messerschmitt ME109 pilots grip.
