Iconic rare WW2 Messerschmitt ME109 control grip from probably the most famous German wartime fighter of them all. The original ME 109 (Designated BF) was designed by Willy Messerschmitt and Robert Lusser who worked at Bayerische Flugzeugwerke factory in Southern Germany. When it first appeared in the skies above Europe it was one of the most advanced fighters with exceptional performance.
The pilots grip is mounted on a ME109 planetary gearing system from the propeller unit. The gearing system is a beautiful example of the detailed engineering that went into these planes. It displays the grip to perfection!
The grip is in a great condition and was recovered from a crash site in France.
Great historic display item that retains all of its originality and patina. .
