Military Collectables

Here at A&B we try and source military collectables that are both interesting to look at as well as having an authentic provenance that adds to their desirability for owning.

Every piece in our wide range of military memorabilia we guarantee will have a story to tell. We seek to display and show case either the incredible engineering that goes into these military artefacts or record information to educate about the bravery of those involved. In doing this we try to adapt the military collectable into a useful piece of functional furniture or as a display item.

A great example of this is the B17 Flying Fortress engine coffee table. There is extensive history of the aircraft and crew that this engine came from, including the sad crash, loss of life and miraculous saving of some crew members. Check out the web site for more information. The engine itself was recovered from the crash site in the 1980’s in an officially authorised recovery program by a local museum.

The engine was displayed for a number of years before being passed to a private collector when the museum closed. I as the owner of A&B discovered this rare item in a leaking container where it had sat forgotten for 10 years plus. With the help of some dedicated exports we sympathetically restored it and mounted it on a sturdy base. Adding a glass top made it a practical if rather large coffee table, more importantly it brought back to life the brave heroics of the young crew who flew the Flying Fortress during those dark days of the war.
